2005 CPTC Oval Race in Beausejour, MB

Speed! Speed! And more speed! Snowmobile speeds hit 179 kph on Beausejour’s ice oval race track at the 43rd running of this annual CPTC Championship in Beausejour, Manitoba, March 5-6, 2005. Jacques Villeneuve, the Flying French Canadian, literally flew around the track with his snowmobile until mechanical failure took him out of competition on Saturday.

The Wahl Brothers Race Team out of Greenbush, MN, have been champions at CPTC snowmobile oval races for decades. Phillip Moulton (On a Wahl Chassis) won Saturday’s big race–Woody’s Triple Crown, with Terry Wahl then Dustin Wahl, in hot pursuit. On Sunday, Dustin placed in Pro Stock 440, 500 and a 2nd in the 600 class. Terry won the Champ 440 class.
